Return of the Green Knight is a slot game by Play'n GO. The official studio page confirms the source title as Return of The Green Knight, the theme as Arthurian Legends, Fantasy, the type as Video Slot, and a release date of 5 October 2023.
The description remains intentionally strict regarding figures. Play'n GO primarily confirms the game's setting and its core mechanics: Wild Multipliers, Free Spins, and Shield Spins. The mathematical data not shown in the official block kept here comes from FruitySlots and should be verified in the game's help section with the operator.
The game revisits the Arthurian duel of the Green Knight: a classic reel layout, with tension building when the Wild Multipliers activate and the Shield Spins lock Wilds in place.
What sources confirm
The official Play'n GO article explains that Wild Multipliers can become active on any spin. The confirmed values are x2, x5, x10, x25, and x100. Three scatters trigger the Free Spins; two scatters during the Free Spins can subsequently unlock the Shield Spins.

Wild Multipliers and Free Spins
When a Wild Multiplier is active, it applies to Wilds that participate in a winning combination. Play'n GO confirms a scale of multipliers ranging from x2 to x100. This scale is important, as it gives the game a more volatile profile than an ordinary fixed wilds slot.
The Free Spins feature is triggered by three scatters. The official source indicates five free spins, with a multiplier that progresses with each Free Spin: starting at x2, and rising up to x100 on the fifth spin.
Shield Spins: locking in the right moment
Shield Spins can trigger if two scatters land during the Free Spins. In this case, the Free Spins are paused, the current multiplier is locked, and any new Wild remains stuck in place during the five Shield Spins.
This is the tactical heart of the game: a Shield Spins round launched at a low multiplier tells a different story than a Shield Spins round triggered when the counter is already close to x100. The game's promise therefore relies less on the number of lines than on the timing between the multiplier, Wilds, and scatters.
Player awareness
The 96.27% RTP, 10/10 volatility, 0.10-100 bet range, and 40,000x max win come from FruitySlots, not from the official Play'n GO block kept here. These figures provide a useful reference, but the paytable displayed by the casino always takes priority.
The profile should therefore be understood as a highly volatile slot: the potential can be high when the Shield Spins arrive with a big multiplier, but sequences without any triggers remain possible. This description should not be read as a guarantee of winnings.
Our quick review
Return of the Green Knight has good editorial potential: the exact title is confirmed by Play'n GO, the Arthurian theme is clear, and the official mechanics provide plenty of substance without the need to make up technical details.
