Space Wars is a NetEnt slot released on 24-04-2013. Official NetEnt and Evolution sources confirm a 5x4 space game, with 40 fixed lines, Wilds, Re-Spins and a Cloning Pod.
This review covers the original Space Wars, not the more recent sequels in the series. The logic is more straightforward: every win triggers a free Re-Spin, the winning symbols are stored in the Cloning Pod, and then clones can return to the reels to attempt a chain reaction.
The official RTP is listed as 96.75% on NetEnt and Evolution. Evolution rates the volatility as Mid, while NetEnt indicates a hit frequency of 16.00% and a max payout of 1,000x bet.

Wilds, Re-Spin and Cloning Pod
Wilds appear randomly on reels 2 and 4, in both the base game and during the Re-Spin. They substitute for other symbols to form the best possible combination on an active line.
The Cloning Pod activates after a win. It stores the winning symbol, replicates it, and then sends copies onto the reels during the Re-Spin. This is the mechanic that gives the game its fast-paced momentum.
Why Stacked Symbols Matter
NetEnt also confirms Stacked Symbols: all symbols can appear stacked on the reels, in both the base game and during the Re-Spin. Combined with 40 fixed lines, this feature increases the chances of hitting a full line.
The game remains easy to follow: there are no Megaways, clusters, or Powerpoints counters on this version. The key element to watch is the sequence of win, cloning, Re-Spin, and then any subsequent new combination.
Player Vigilance
The Mid volatility indicates a less brutal experience than the more recent Space Wars instalments, but the 16.00% hit frequency is a reminder that winless spins remain normal. The official max payout of 1,000x bet also sets a more moderate expectation.
The official betting range is wide, from £0.40 to £200.00. As always, the casino's help screen must remain the final reference for the active version, especially if the operator offers internal variants.
Our Quick Verdict
Space Wars is mainly worth playing for its cloning system, which is older but still easy to understand. This is a NetEnt game to look at if you want a fixed-line slot with a little twist, without the more complex layers of modern sequels.
