Shogun mode and Toro Goes Wild
The Shogun mode starts when the reels reach 10 rows. This phase removes low-value symbols to keep only feature symbols, high-value symbols and medium-value symbols. This is a good indication of the ELK style: the grid can grow, but the challenge remains to bring the right symbols into the right phase.
The Toro Goes Wild feature is triggered when Toro and Matador appear together on screen. Toro leaves Wilds behind him while chasing Matadors. Wins connecting all reels from left to right can also activate Both Ways, which pays out combinations in both directions.
Point of vigilance
The RTP of 94.0% is low compared to many modern slots. Toro Shogun should therefore be read as a game very oriented towards features and potential, not as a comfortable title for long automatic sessions. The 7/10 volatility and the 25,000x cap point in the same direction: there is appeal, but also risk.
X-iter allows players to choose from several entry modes, from a 3x bet with more chances to trigger the bonus, up to a Shogun super bonus entry at 500x. This option can speed up the session, but it increases exposure very quickly. Before playing with real money, you should check the RTP version, bet limits and active options with the operator.
Our quick opinion
Toro Shogun is interesting if you like ELK slots with a real build-up: expandable grid, walking wilds, bonus, Shogun mode and X-iter. On the other hand, the 94.0% RTP requires real bankroll discipline. The game is judged less on the frequency of small returns than on its capacity to reach its strong phases.
