slot machines

Jurassic Park is a film franchise. But it is also the name given to a slot machine developed by Microgaming, one of the leading iGaming providers of slots and games on the market.
At 8Fortuna, we love to test, discover and analyse. That is why our experts have recently taken a close look at this one, in order to understand everything:
how it works,
what its specific features are (symbols, bonuses, RTP…)
what the best strategies are to follow to hope to win money.
A comprehensive analysis that we hope will make you want to discover it too.
What is Jurassic Park, the Microgaming slot machine
Jurassic Park is a slot machine that was launched by the provider Microgaming in 2014. It is a somewhat older slot machine, whose name inevitably recalls the film saga initiated in 1993 by Steven Spielberg.
It is therefore no surprise that this slot machine is based on the same theme, namely that of the universe of dinosaurs. On this slot, 3D dinosaurs and authentic sound clips have been integrated to make the experience even more immersive.
The grid of the Jurassic Park slot machine works on a 5x4 basis. In total, 243 paylines are offered. A slot machine that also offers, as you will see later, numerous bonus elements to considerably improve its final multiplier.
The symbols of Jurassic Park
We counted 10 symbols in total on the Jurassic Park slot machine. As always in this type of game, they are divided into several segments, with classic symbols, which represent different types of dinosaurs (T-Rex, Velociraptor, Brachiosaurus, Triceratops and Dilophosaurus) that you can find in the film. They appear quite frequently, but are the ones that pay the least.
There are also premium symbols, which are represented by the main characters of the film (the very first one). These are professors Alan Grant, Ellie Sattler and Ian Malcolm as well as John Hammond, the creator of the park. These symbols are rarer, but are the ones that pay the most.
The symbol that pays the most is the Scatter symbol. It represents the mosquito trapped in amber stone, which is at the origin of the "recreation" of living dinosaurs. Indeed, its DNA was mixed with that of a frog, with the aim of filling in the gaps in the genetic code sequence and thus giving life to all kinds of "monsters".
Finally, there is the Wild symbol. It is the park logo, namely a black T-Rex on a red background. It has its own multipliers and can replace any symbol to complete combinations, Scatter symbol excluded.

Unlocking bonuses on Jurassic Park
Jurassic Park is a slot machine with bonuses. Unlocking and enjoying them is really not difficult. During your spin, a "T-Rex Alert" alarm can be triggered if the dedicated symbol appears. This actually appears if three (or more) Scatter symbols appear.
If this is the case, 35 wilds will appear on the reels for the next six spins. Depending on the combinations achieved, you can hope to win bonus games. In fact, five different free spins modes will be offered to you.
The bonus you will play will be selected completely at random. After 25 bonuses, however, you will have the opportunity to choose the one that tempts you the most yourself, for 12 free spins:
Tyrannosaurus rex: with the "Wild Reels" feature, stacked wilds are placed on all reels. The T-Rexes appear in groups of 3, guaranteeing a win with every appearance.
Velociraptor: this bonus features split and multiplier wilds. A wild can split in two to form a combination, allowing wins equivalent to six symbols (double a five-of-a-kind win). Multiplier wilds add a random multiplier of 4x, 5x or 6x.
Brachiosaurus: this bonus incorporates mystery multipliers, applying a multiplier of 2x to 6x on each spin.
Triceratops: this bonus includes "Running Wilds", where a stack of three wilds grows by one symbol per spin. An incomplete stack triggers a respin to complete it, and a complete stack offers an additional respin.
Dilophosaurus: with "Winning Wilds", a dilophosaurus can turn a symbol into a wild by spitting on it. This wild remains active until it forms a winning combination.
How to play Jurassic Park by Microgaming?
The game begins with the betting phase. A small subtlety here. Indeed, you do not bet your own money directly, but rather a coin size, which varies from 0.01 to 0.05. The number of coins varies from 1 to 10. This gives a betting range of between 0.30 and 15 per spin.
You can then start the spin. Depending on the combinations that may be achieved, you will be informed of what happens next. Either you win money, or you lose your game, or you access the different bonus games and can therefore improve your multipliers.
Volatility, RTP and possible payout
Volatility on the Jurassic Park slot machine is considered to be high, without being extremely high. The RTP (return to player) of the game is 96.67%. This is in the upper average for slot machines. A standard figure, however, for a provider like Microgaming.
