NetEnt is an iGaming provider that needs no introduction. A benchmark when it comes to online casino games, the company is known for its many slot machines, including the one called Narcos!
Directly inspired by the world of Mexican cartels, this game caught the attention of the experts at 8Fortuna. Our teams therefore wanted to take some time to study and analyse this slot machine, in order to offer you an analysis that is as complete and detailed as possible.
Discover Narcos, the NetEnt slot machine
Launched in 2023, the Narcos slot machine was put on the market by the provider NetEnt. It is directly inspired by the Netflix series about Mexican cartels. What is more, cutscenes are integrated, making the gaming experience much more pleasant and immersive.
This slot operates on the basis of a 5x3 grid. In total, 243 paylines are available. Profitable, it allows you to win up to 1,506 times your bet.
Of course, this figure is a far cry from the x10,000 or x20,000 multipliers offered by some casinos. Even so, the potential winnings remain particularly interesting, especially since the variance of this game is quite medium!
The symbols of the Narcos slot machine
We counted, in all, eight symbols on this slot machine. The premium symbols are represented by agents of the American DEA, the anti-drug enforcement agency. These are agents Steve Murphy, Javier Peña, José Rodríguez Gacha and Connie Murphy.
We then find "Medium" symbols. These are the 10 - J - Q - K - A card symbols with representations of weapons or elements reminiscent of cartels directly on them. Finally, the Wild symbol is a badge of the DEA, the US drug enforcement agency.
Two other symbols exist:
Pablo Escobar, who is the "Locked Up" symbol
The golden suitcase, which is the "Golden Locked Up" symbol
The bonus options on the Narcos slot machine
There are three bonus options on the Narcos slot machine. The Wild symbol is represented by a DEA badge. It replaces any symbol in the game and allows you to create specific combinations. If you get three of them, then the bonuses are activated.
Drive By
The "Drive-By" feature is, in our opinion, the most interesting. It materialises as the appearance of a car in the game, which will stop. A member of the cartel will then shoot at the reels. All of the affected reels can then turn into wilds.
Locked Up
This is a re-spin feature, with 3 re-spins that you can only obtain thanks to the Locked Up and Golden Locked Up symbols. Each time such a symbol appears, you reset the number of respins back to 3.
For a concrete example, check out the Hugo Bets review.
If during these spins, Locked Up symbols appear on the same row, you strengthen your multiplier. It can reach up to x10. This is done completely at random.
If the Locked Up symbol connects to a winning combination, then:
you multiply all symbols in the winning group by x2 or x3.
symbols that are part of a Golden Locked Up combination will benefit from a multiplier of x7 to x15.
Walking Wild
The Walking Wild bonus is activated during the base game. The Wild symbols become sticky. This makes it easier to create new combinations and therefore generate larger multipliers.
Free spins
If you find 3 scatters during a spin, you will receive 10 free spins. During these free spins, certain symbols can transform into Wild symbols. If the Walking Wild feature is then activated, you will have numerous Wild symbols on the grid, thus generating more combinations.
How to play Narcos by NetEnt?
Narcos is a slot machine with classic operations. It all starts with the betting phase. Once your spin is paid for, you can spin the wheel. Everything then works automatically. Indeed, whether it is a bonus option, a win or a loss, you will be notified very quickly of what is going to happen.
This slot machine also has an "Auto-Play" option. This is quite interesting if you want to automate your game and above all, follow the strategy you have set for yourself to the letter. Auto-Play allows you to restart the game, automatically, as soon as it ends.
Volatility, RTP and possible payout
On Narcos, the NetEnt slot machine, the RTP (return to player rate) is 96.23%. This is a classic RTP for slot machines, although it is, we should note, in the upper average. It is therefore a fairly profitable game, which allows you to generate significant returns.
As a reminder, the maximum win on Narcos by NetEnt is x1,506. For some players, this is too little. But it remains very interesting, especially since traditionally, maximum multipliers, regardless of the slot machine, are particularly difficult to achieve.
Finally, Narcos is an accessible slot machine. Indeed, the spin starts from 0.2 euros, which is very low. The maximum amount per spin is 400 euros, representing a potential maximum win of nearly 602,000 euros.
